When he sent us up the Sound of Mull against the tide this year with a merry quip about waiting for the tide being for wimps I felt I might be witnessing the emergence of a pattern.

I feel that there are issues that should be addressed, concerning the lowering levels of moral fibre in some quarters.

With this in mind, I think it might be in order to introduce some extra curricular activities this year designed to bolster flagging fortitudes.
You will remember that I requested Matt to learn the fiddle a couple of years ago and insisted upon auld droopy doing a pilates session at Pullers once. Muzzy was made to "rescue" shard and tow him safely to a haven, Para was given a mechanical problem to address and solve, LJS was tasked with measuring the effects of copious consumption of mount-gay and the silken one was similarly tasked with a night pontoon navigation exercise which he did in fact not quite achieve.

I am of a mind to hold a midnight mass tai chi session on a beach somewhere and am currently considering a leader for that session. Davey is looking good for that.
I feel that the Sunday afternoon session has always tended to be quite light and am looking to pep this up a tad - any suggestions?

Laying off the sauce on Saturday night would probably help but I'm not sure that this solution would be acceptable to all.

This is a surprisingly intelligent post containing much in the way of the vision and the foresight that I believe is required. I have little doubt that many members of our assembled company will be fairly irreligious. I am currently undertaking research into the various houses of worship that could be visited on the morning of the Lord's Day with a view redeeming and saving some souls.
A clear head would be an advantage and reduced levels of exposure to alcohol would inevitably help.
I shall make a note of the suggestion - there could well be a mention in dispatches at the closing ceremony for you Silkie, my good man.

From the cruise director : "Claymore is staying on the water for the winter so plan A is an early trip North, collect Sahona on the way and sail in tandem - a brace of Claymores - to hit the chents cruise. This sounds slightly Somalian in its intent, however, we are in the watter2, and assuming no major projects are started, Sahona should be intact and ready to be highjacked in time for Claymore Chaos10.

Church on the Oa sounds most wonderful. Unfortunately Nick will be on the cruise -he is particularly Godless.
And then there's Silkie....

Glad to hear that the cruise will be directed this year by such an upstanding and civilised member of the sailing community.

On a serious note for a second, how did you get on with your investigating, DaveS? Unless I've missed it somewhere else on here, I've not seen an update on the boat repairs. Hope they are all now resolved after a hard winter's grafting?
