I think filth and drunkenness are clues to the location and the view.

In fact I wasn't too unhappy about the poor visibility since it accompanied the accurately forecast northerly wind shift. I would have been in the wrong anchorage otherwise.

You guys are so lucky. West Wales is beautiful, but nowhere near, and then there are the tides.
We'll have to see if we can get up next year.
