Just got my hands on the new publication from the CCC - Cruising Scotland. It really is well written and has tons of pictures. Glad it is not in the Hamish Haswell Smith mode but fills in the gaps in the Sailing Directions where you could have done with a bit more detail on what is ashore.

A darn good read.

It's very good indeed, and I hope Nick puts a link to it when he gets a chance. The "Companion to the Sailing Directions" will have pride of place along with Hamish Haswell-Smith's "Scottish Islands" on Shard's bookshelf during our seasonal meanderings. Along with the SDs, they both meet different needs.

It will also be a good fireside book for the winter, thinking about where you haven't been yet, and where you'd like to revisit.

Is that the one that Edward has compiled - he asked me for permission to use one of my pics - the Road Narrows sign on the way in to Arisaig.

Yes. It's worth it for that alone!
